Rio Carnival- Arts Week June 20th 2016

Our Rio Carnival Procession was not hampered by the rain! The whole school went out in true carnival style, dancing our way to St Matthew's Church. Our lovely parents came out to see us and local people came out of their houses to line the streets to wave us on. The Year fives and sixes did a brilliant job of designing, making and posting flyers about the event to the houses along the route. At the church we were met by the Steel Pans Band from Stockport Academy and they were absolutely brilliant. The church was a sea of colour with flags and huge puppets along with amazing costumes made by the children. Our dance group and singing group performed for us and then the steel band played once again. The Crafters Group from St Matthew's Church presented our school with some beautiful bean bags that they had made for us and Reverend David led us in a prayer at the end of the celebration.

A HUGE thank you to:

-All of the children who have worked so hard this week to create amazing costumes and works of art.

-Stone Soup for their amazing story telling and drama workshops at the start of the week.

-All the parents and local people who came out to see us.
